Hello,

I tried to use a phenom II x2 550 in this board. I updated the required bios (F7) properly, but the board doesn't know the processor. I tried with an AM2 3500+ processor, and it works. The phenom II proc. was in use in another board (GA-M57SLI-S4), and it worked.

First, download the latest BIOS and download the @BIOS utility from Gigabyte which you can get over at their site. Use it to update to the newest BIOS and pray the power doesn't go out or something 😀. After you do that turn off the computer. Turn the Computer back on, go into the BIOS settings, and select "Load Setup Defaults". It should work fine after that assuming nothing is wrong with the board itself. My chip is also of the C2 stepping and it works just fine, notice I have the same board ^_^

I did it almost 10 times, and nothing happened. So it is not works... F10A bios is on the board right now, and it still dead with this fkin' proc.

I sell it, and let this to another guy...

^actually I take that back. It could be the RAM. The memory controller on the Phenom II is different and may not like your RAM settings. Manually set the RAM to it's default speed and use the loosest timings along with a slightly higher voltage, then put in the new CPU. Don't know what else to tell ya. Good luck.

It doesn't matter right now. I sold it finally. 😀 . Thank you for your help, I finished this topic ... How can I close it? Do I have to close it?
