GA-Z77X-UD3H REV 1.1 Audio Crackling /

I have a Gigabyte GA-Z77X-UD3H REV 1.1 motherboard with an audio crackling problem. I have the latest drivers for the sound: VIA High Definition Audio (Ver. 6.0.1.10800). I have the latest firmware update F18. All of my other drivers are the current version as well. What could be causing this problem?

Are you asking me to list the programs I have used to listen to audio? Are some worse than others? (e.g. Windows Media Player vs. Pandora (browser streaming))

I have exactly the same issue.
Doesn`t matter what programs i have open.
It happens with browser music and video (like youtube etc.),
it happens during gaming (BF3/BF4/Starcraft 2/Bioshock2 etc.),
when watching movies (smplayer/vlc)
The list goes on.

My answer comes straight from Gigabyte and it works!!!!

SOLUTION: Stop overclocking your system to get rid of the crackle.
