Hi rez flac files require good equipment (not necessarily expensive equipment) to matter.
CD quality lossless FLAC files sound dramatically better on any mid level and better speakers.
So since apple is locked-down harder than San Quentin I'm guessing that people who enjoy the freedom to choose what file formats they use will have to pass on the apple TV products then.
