Question Game crashes with 2 sticks of Ram, but seems to not crash with 1 stick of Ram

Hello, my PC has been crashing while playing Helldiver's 2 and a couple other games. It has had this issue since it was new back in May. Usually just the game crashes but sometimes the PC crashes and restarts. It crashes when both 16gb ram sticks are installed in channel A and B. It has not crashed yet with just one stick of ram installed, and I tried each stick of ram by itself and it did not crash. I updated the motherboard BIOS to the latest version (Version 3057) and that seemed to help, but it still crashes. Lowering the graphics and display resolution seems to help lessen the crashing frequency. Thank you in advance.

CPU: Ryzen 7 7700
CPU Cooler: CoolMaster 360mm Atmos AIO
Motherboard: ASUS Prime B650M-A AX6 (BIOS: Version 3057 (Nov 06, 2024))
GPU: ASUS TUF 4070 Super
PSU: 750Watts - Seasonic FOCUS V3 GX ATX 3.0 80 PLUS Gold (7 months) (220 hours)
Ram: 32GB (16GBx2) DDR5/7200MHz (Team T-FORCE DELTA RGB)
HDD: 1TB WD Blue SN580 NVMe SSD

Copied my previous answer to another post, I go beyond the RAM thing, but should be great to analyze more points, with care (for sure), asking questions/support too...

"Ok, I will do a lot of generic advices:
Avoid wireless/use wired keyboard/mouse;
Always ensure your GPU is 100%, if not replace/bring for fix;
Check RAM banks, eraser but without letting artifacts enter & clean the contacts about your RAM sometimes, without artifacts being a thing; check if all the teeths about gold little soldered things;
Your SSD, check SATA cable + SATA power cable;
CPU, check the teeths about the socket if 100% or if on CPU the pins, all being 100%, fix if not letting someone help or newer motherboard;
Do the jumper thing reading the manual to reset your MB + replace the CR2032 battery for a better one, great brand;
Analyze your cooling system, be careful about dBa being so much to not make you very upset about loudness/noisy aspect;
Reinstall Windows if needed, install a good anti-virus option, install upgrades by Windows Upgrade, only not if features coming from downloaded drivers or prefer disks to install drivers, newer drivers may or not help...
Check the entire air flow about your case too; and finally: if all connections are 100%, even the front panel & none oxide things."

7200 is aggressive for ryzen. Try changing to 6000 in bios. 6400 is possible but not guaranteed, 7200 is way too fast for the men controller. Also confirm bios & chipset drivers are up to date

Look in Reliability History/Monitor and Event Viewer.

Either one or both tools may be capturing some error code, warning, or even some informational event just before or at the time of the crashes.

I'm having a similar issue where my games keep crashing. i narrowed down the cause too an error in event viewer

this happens right before my game crashes. however when i took out one of my sticks of ram it stopped happening so i switched out the stick i was testing with the one i took out to see if it was the slot or just the ram stick itself and the crash happened again. since i was due for an upgrade anyway i bought new ram but the issue persists where one stick works and the other doesn't. both sets of ram were G.skill Ripjaw ddr4-3200. the first set was 2x 8GB and the new one was 2x 16GB. they are in the slot configuration the mother board recommends but I've tried every different combination of locations to see if that helps. did i just get really unluck buying ram that was already broken or is there something else i need to fix.

Okay, I turned it down to 5600. I will see what happens. Thank you for the info.

Okay, thank you for the info. I found this logged in the Reliability Monitor when it crashed yesterday. I also found an error in the Event Viewer that may be relevant, although it was not logged during the time of the crash, I posted that at the bottom.

I also found this Error in the Event Viewer. The error was not logged at exactly during the time of the crash.

The AMDRyzenMasterDriverV27 service failed to start due to the following error:
The system cannot find the file specified.

Four suggestions:

1) Run "dism" and "sfc /scannow" to find and fix any file corruption problems.

https://www.windowscentral.com/how-use-dism-command-line-utility-repair-windows-10-image

https://www.lifewire.com/how-to-use-sfc-scannow-to-repair-windows-system-files-2626161

2) Scale back on the settings as has been suggested. You may not get the required/desired performance - the immediate objective being to determine if the host system will become stable and remain stable. When the system is deemed stable then begin making changes in small increments. There may be some threshold setting or combination of settings where one small difference results in the return of instability.

3) Ensure that all drivers are indeed up to date. Drivers should be downloaded, installed, and configured manually. No third party tools or installers. Verify that the source website is the actual manufacturer's website. Just because the manufacturer'name or some other indicator appears in the pathname does not mean that the website is the real manufacturer.

4) Reinstall Helldiver with basic settings. Increment upwards paying attention to errors and crashes. Check both Reliability History/Monitor and Event Viewer immediately after any problems occur.

from my own experiance with g skill it doesnt play friendly with ryzen. make sure ram is in slots 2 and 4.

I have played 10 hours so far, and I have not had a crash while running the Ram at 5600. It would have normally crashed at least 10 times during that time period. Thank you @Kona45primo and others that suggested turning the Ram down.

5200 is max normal speed

5600 still a oc
6000 is still a oc but doable.

when you go higher then that it becomes more unstable.

team ram can be funny as well.

i found that msi/asus hated team ram.

but it worked in motherboards like gigabyte and asrock
