Hi there. Im having issues Running NBA 2K23, and EFT on my pc. I can load in and its fine but after about 5 minutes the audio goes a loud buzzing sound, black screen, then i get booted back to my desktop. Here are the specs:

Processor: Intel i510700k
Graphics card: PNY Geforce RTX 3050
RAM: 32GB of DDR4
Motherboard: Asus Z490M+

have been having the issue for the past month or so. I already tried using DDU and clean install of graphics driver, sfc and dcim in command prompt with admin right, removing gpu and cpu overclock, mem test through windows memory diagnostic. Nothing seems to work. I can watch youtube and stuff just fine, but whenever I try to run a game its 50/50 whether in 5 minutes it crashes as described above. No BSOD. If anyone can help that would be great!

Does anything show up in the windows event log when this happens?

I've had a loose GPU power cable do some really weird stuff so worth taking a quick look at to make sure everything is plugged in securely.

What kind of power supply do you have?

seem to keep getting this error:

The description for Event ID 0 from source nvlddmkm cannot be found. Either the component that raises this event is not installed on your local computer or the installation is corrupted. You can install or repair the component on the local computer.

If the event originated on another computer, the display information had to be saved with the event.

The following information was included with the event:

\Device\Video3
Error occurred on GPUID: 100

The message resource is present but the message was not found in the message table

Im not exactly sure what power supply i run, it says Enermax Active PFC 100-240 VAC on the side and PRO 82+ on it as well. I can look at better in the morning cuz to find the label i have to take it out of the case, but Ive had this graphics for over 6 months and no other hardware has changed. Power cable is secure.

If that's the original version of the Pro 82+ then it would be a PSU with origins around 15 years or so ago (this doesn't mean when you bought it just when the line debuted). If that's the situation then it's entirely possible the PSU is the issue. The error you're seeing is definitely with the video card, but that doesn't mean the video card is bad.

The PSU was a hand me down and it's lasted a good 4 years or so in my pc. So I'm guessing the next step is to test the PSU? I don't have a backup nor a friend that has one to test with so I'm unsure if there's anything else I can do to test it. I'm gonna assume for now that it isn't the GPU since it's 6 month old.

It's weird cuz I just spend the last hour on MW2 with no issues. I didn't check for error codes yet but I'll check later around this time and see.

Intermittent issues can be a sign of a failing PSU, but make sure of the details of the PSU before doing anything else. It just seems like you've done a good job of covering all the standard troubleshooting steps and I agree bad GPU is unlikely.
