(If you need anything else please let me know)

So I've been having constant crashing issues, even before my upgrade I had a RX580 which also had crashing on various games.

with my RTX 2060, the games that crash or; Fortnite, Black Ops 2, Hitman 2, Shadow of the tomb raider, Escape from Tarkov (these are the games off the top of my head.)
Games that dont crash; Valorant, Warzone (again these are the games of the top of my head.)

If tried every "fix" in the book;
Clean install of windows,
Install up to date GPU drivers,
Using DDU to remove old drivers,
Using regedit
Removing OC ( I havnt OC anything other than the DOCP profile for my RAM, which I also removed and that did not fix anything.)

This is my first time posting anything, I'm actually flabbergasted with this issue, I've literally been on every website and youtube video that says "FIX".

Also, I dont know if this has anything to do with crashes or anything but I constantly see these error messages in the event viewer;
The application-specific permission settings do not grant Local Activation permission for the COM Server application with CLSID
{2593F8B9-4EAF-457C-B68A-50F6B8EA6B54}
and APPID
{15C20B67-12E7-4BB6-92BB-7AFF07997402}

I've done everything it says online to try and stop these errors yet they dont go away, It seems like I don't have full control over my PC, I dont know how to describe it but It feels like my pc is setup in a way that its meant to be apart of one big hub, similar to a school computer where you cant do certain things. Just seems weird that I dont have access to things on my own computer.

Thank you for the help and let me know if you need anything else.

My main monitor Is running 144hz, the second monitor is set to 75hz.

Again, not sure if this is relevant or not but in the control panel I had to set a custom resolution for the second monitor, the actual resolution is native 1920x1080, but for the hz I changed it to 75 because thats what my monitor is.

Disconnect the 75Hz monitor and run your main monitor only on 144Hz.

My old RAM is:
Corsair Vengeance RGB PRO 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4 3200 MHz C16 XMP 2.0 Enthusiast RGB LED Illuminated Memory Kit - White

The reason I upgraded is because I thought that the crashes were because of the old ram.

EDIT: ‎Model NO.: CMW16GX4M2C3200C16W

Alright we might be getting somewhere.
That specific ram is also not on the QVL. Some lower speed/CL18 is, but not yours SPECIFICALLY.

It could have been released and the list not updated, or we have a culprit.

Don't suppose there's more different ram at your place lol

Unfortunately I dont, in your professional opinion, would this match with the crashes I've described. If so I might just have to get new RAM. I am no expert when it comes to PC evidently but I didnt think that RAM was that much of an issue, and the fact I got unlucky on both sets of RAM is quite remarkable.

with he RAM not being in the QVL doesn't mean it's the RAM it's the issue. The motherboard manufacture cannot test all RAM kits (to many to do so) I have never installed RAM from a manufactures QVL list and never had an issue. As long as the board supports the Type and Speed then shouldn't be an issue.

Plus RAM issues would probably result in a BSOD (Blue Screen Of Death) with a stop code.

I'm 90% sure it shouldn't matter, but we can't forget about it if you are unable to test with a known good set.

Well without a spare psu, you've done more or less all the stress testing you can.

The fact it only seems to affect games sorta points to software over hardware though.

Sure, a bad GPU or ram might crash a game, but there should also be artefacting or bsod to go with it too.

When did the issues start, and what else happened at the time?

Also, have you yourself updated the BIOS to the August version? Or is the board pretty new?

I'm pretty sure it started ever since I got my 2060, games like Escape From Tarkov would just freeze, and crash, but the performance of the game was completely fine, and it was random as well, sometimes I could play 4-5 games with no issue, sometimes it would crash within the first 10 minutes. but since then I've upgraded the: CPU, Motherboard, RAM, Case. Same PSU from the old build though. I had a RX580 before, and I cant say for certain if I( experience crashing on that card or not.

I got the Motherboard, CPU, Case around the middle of November, so pretty recent.

Reading back over your original post.

What do you mean by can't do certain things?

Do you have a local account or Microsoft account?

Have you installed Office 365 package from work, college?

Do you get message some setting are being configured by administrator?

Well, for example when I went to change the permissions for the Fortnite folder, it wouldnt let me at first, I find that strange, I dont know why it wouldnt let me in the first place.

Also, I've been playing on just the one monitor for around 30 mins and no crashes. The game however seems to be choppy, like im not running 144hz, is this because of the HDMI cable, and if so, why did the game feel 144hz when my other monitor was plugged in?

This is normal when your not recognised as the owner of folder. I bet it was probably owned by the administrator account. We changed it to you.

Go into display settings on Nvidia control panel and check resolution and make sure it's on native or recommended

What FPS are you getting in game when running 144Hz?

As for the choppyness can you enable freesync and connect display cable and turn on GSync.

With GSync and freesync enabled go into Nvidia control panel and turn in vertical sync. Also turn in vertical sync in game settings.

In game im getting 200 capped, by the it feels like im not actually running on 144hz. (I've doubled checked and I am on 144hz in control panel)

I've just checked my second monitor and it turns out the cable is a DP to HDMI, so the DP is plugged into the monitor and the HDMI is in the monitor. No clue why I did this?

EDIT: so my second monitor, (the 75hz) only has 2 HDMI port, so maybe it was to do with the length of the cable? because my PC is on the for right of my desk and my main monitor is middle left ish.

Hi Calquat,

When you get DP

Can you try the following:

Connect both monitors
Main one DP
Secondary HDMI

Open Google Chrome ->settings-> advanced -> turn off hardware acceleration

Set both monitors perform scaling on to GPU
Open Nvidia Control Panel -> adjust desktop display and size->scaling->Perform scaling on (set to GPU)

set both monitors to native resolution and refresh rate in resolution here too.

test see if crash happens

Hi Thomas,

I received the new cable and set up the monitors how you said. Unfortunately the game still crashed. I checked the event viewer, like I do always and the same error message in my first post was there, I've noticed that the error message appears exactly when the game crashes. The same time in the event viewer.

I've searched this error up because I thought at first this was the issue, I went through all the steps on many websites and videos and yet the error seems to not go away.

This error is benign Calquat. Don't worry about it.

Run only the one monitor with DP and see how you get on.
