Games on Vista

People: I have a question:

Im giving my PC to my bro in a couple of months time as I am building a new one, its a p4 3ghz, 1gb ram & a X800XTPE (and thus DX9).

My new one will have a DX10 graphics card in.

My question is: Will me and my bro be able to play Supreme Commander against each other, even though one of us is using DX10 and one using DX9?

Not only that but you should be able to play other players on a 360 as well.
