You don't want to use VGA on any modern digital LCD. It's a throw-back interface demanded by a shrinking number of consumers for compatibility with a by-gone erra. (and a high refresh CRT gamers on a budget).
When you connect a CRT via analog, you're connecting an analog display device with an analog connection and everything works well, the tube presents the analog input correctly.
When you connect a digital LCD via analog, it attempts to decode and "align" that input signal to the fixed layout digital grid of pixels on the screen. The result is never a perfect alignment. The image will always be "off" a little bit. The result is comparable to running an LCD at a resolution that isn't it's native resolution. If you want to realize the true sharpness of an LCD, it must be connected via DVI, HDMI, or, Displayport.
