Challenge: Build the best gaming setup you can for 1500 US dollars. It must include Cpu, graphics card, motherboard ,8 gigs of ram , a case, hard drive and an ssd, a purchased os, an optical drive for installing the os, a keyboard, a mouse ,speakers , wifi compatibility, and a monitor.
I believe this to be almost impossible.
Prove me wrong

Solution
There is plenty of room in the budget to upgrade to SLI ready components if that's a requirement. The note about the RAM can be ignored, but this build has been upgraded with an SLI ready motherboard, RAM that runs at lower voltage, and a large PSU that will allow for SLI in the future. There's also some room in the budget for a nice LED IPS monitor.

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant

CPU: Intel Core i5-4690K 3.5GHz Quad-Core Processor ($219.99 @ SuperBiiz)
CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler ($28.75 @ OutletPC)
Motherboard: Asus Z97-A ATX LGA1150 Motherboard ($129.99 @ Amazon)
Memory: G.Skill Ripjaws X...

don't I need data cables I don't see them include...and what video cable? What is the display port you speak of?

No, you shouldn't need data cables. The Motherboard comes with the necessary SATA cables for the HDDs and the CD/DVD Drive. The GPU plugs into the PCI-E slot on the motherboard, so it doesn't have data cables.

DisplayPort is a type of video connection cable.
But actually, looking at the suggested monitor, it doesn't have a DisplayPort connector, so you will have to use DVI instead.

Can you link me to a compatible one I'm still a bit confused

How much of a step up is DVI from VGA then?

You don't want to use VGA on any modern digital LCD. It's a throw-back interface demanded by a shrinking number of consumers for compatibility with a by-gone erra. (and a high refresh CRT gamers on a budget).

When you connect a CRT via analog, you're connecting an analog display device with an analog connection and everything works well, the tube presents the analog input correctly.

When you connect a digital LCD via analog, it attempts to decode and "align" that input signal to the fixed layout digital grid of pixels on the screen. The result is never a perfect alignment. The image will always be "off" a little bit. The result is comparable to running an LCD at a resolution that isn't it's native resolution. If you want to realize the true sharpness of an LCD, it must be connected via DVI, HDMI, or, Displayport.

So with that added is this build ready to be built and run the day the parts arrive?

Hypothetically, assuming everything that you order works correctly and ships with everything it is supposed to, yes, the build should be complete... but there is no way for anyone to provide you with any guarantees that it will work the day the parts arrive as that will depend on whether all the parts work out of the box, and depends on your competence in assembling and configuring those parts. If you get hung up on BIOS configuration for a few hours, then you may not have a working build by the end of the day that you set out to assemble it. If you're new to this you should ASSUME you WON'T have a working computer the day the parts arrive.

To be honest, I get the feeling like this thread is serving a hidden agenda: To create a place for you to place liability in the event that your computer doesn't work, or doesn't perform as expected, or whatever. You've been sort of "baiting" to that effect from my perspective.

the reason why mdocod said that is really the same reason why i suggested something earlier.
the questions you are asking are not the general questions any other new computer builder has asked on this forum. you have asked every single thing that there possibly is, plus other things that arent even a concern to 90% of people, whether they are fluent with pc's or not.
i asked previously, and you also said that it was to see what kind of responses you would get, and to see if these answers are better than those tha tyou would get elsewhere. this tells me that you dont really need to know any of this because you already know it, or you are just fishing for different answers to see what you get. you, yourself, have already said that you are just seeing what responses there are, and to see the general demeanor of this site. i have to agree with him. i dont think that these questions are genuine, and that there is something else driving the questions you are asking.

Your right to be cautious I'm an alien and I'm stealing your knowledge as to take over your planet.
Jeez dude it's called curiosity and caution. I'm make treads for things that I'm curious about and want to know more about, as for the many question that's called not being wreck less and creating something that is a piece of....well you know what I mean.
Notice I also want answers only on this thread so please private message me if you have complaints.
