Hi there, I am currently looking at the following PC Build for Gaming with games like BF4 and ARMA 3, I am looking for something that is relativley future proof but provides value for money with automatic overclocking as this is my first build. I am about to go from a laptop to this so anything is going to be better, as i have had enough of buying an entire PC every 2 years

Looks good but an expensive motherboard doesn't really contribute to gaming performance. You can take a relatively cheaper Z87 board and save some money if you want. However maximus vi gene is a very good board if you are willing to pay the price.

This looks like a better build to me. Included An SSD and a better Graphics card within that same budget of yours:

My thoughts exactly, i am still trying to justify the decision on the motherboard, however i have seen it in action with a similar setup and it seems to work very welll, particuarly with the UEFI setup that they have. For the sake of 100$ i keep seeing to many "downsides to other boards like sound or lack of sata cables/ports" Please feel free to correct me if i am wrong, as i am having the hardest time choosing the motherboard, as i dont really know what i am looking for being a build n00b

Check my previous post. I've managed a build there.. the ASUS Z87-A that I've included will perform equally as maximus gene and also has UEFI bios if I'm not wrong. It also overclocks very well. A better value for money..

if you want better audio then go with either maximus gene or hero... they both have better audio chip. But that will increase the cost..

Yes you have enough on the PSU front. If you want better sound, you can always add an Asus Xonar sound card. Its not costly.
The main difference between Z87K and Z87A is that the Z87A is sli ready. So in future, if you want to upgrade your pc, you can just add another card in SLI (however you will need a bigger PSU). With Z87k, you wont be able to SLI.

See the last time i built (way back in 2006 or so) a PC ASrock, wasnt all that great, gigabyte were probably asus's rivals and MSI well, sucked is this still the case today

More or less... ASUS is still the best board maker. Of course many people won't agree on that.

ASRock have come a long way since 2006. They deliver the most value for money but they are not as good as ASUS or Gigabyte. But some of their board are quite good. Ultimately its your choice.

Install your OS, core applications and above these, 4-5 big sized games can also be installed.
Its benifits are 5 second boot time with windows 8, faster loading times of games and improved overall performance like browsing etc.
