Before the end of this month I wanna put a good gaming rig together my price limit is $950 and thats already pushing it Heres what Ive put together so far..will this all work fine together? how would this preform on say crysis?

Total is $954.00 I was going to go with alot better mb with sli but then I seen the monitor and decided to just go with out the double pci 2.0 slots.. How will this mb hold up with the phenom 2 x4?
I asked else where and I keep getting alot of these items suck why dont you get the best of this and that.$950 is my limit will this be a good gaming machine?

HEC is a tier 5 PSU company, meaning they are best used as doorstops.

You could build a rig that would run far better for that price I think.

Now you have better parts for the same cost.

Sure, you'll need to overclock the CPU a bit, but it will be easy enough.

For some reason the faster E7400 is less expensive than the E7300 at the moment:
E7300 2.66Gjz $125 E7400 2.8Ghz $120

I like Proximon's suggestions: 22" LCD monitor and GTX 260 video card are a great match.

If insisting on AMD, go ahead and spend the extra for the X4 940 BE for the unlocked multiplier.

I wouldn't get the ruby orb. If you like red lights, I would look at the Zalmans here

+1 @proximon, but a 4870 can be had for $190, which will leave room in the budget for xthekidx' faster CPU choice.

If jtt283 is talking about the 1gb verison then i'd say go with that. I ussualy don't go agaisnt the gtx 260 because i think it's a really great card but I think you'd get to similar results with the 4870 1gb verison. It wouldn't warrent the increase of $40 bucks.

Other than that. the build is solid.

Yeah the OP had an Nvidia card so I went that route, but a 4870 would get him more free cash for a processor.

$818 for a 790 gx mobo , Pll 940 ,4 gigs of RAM with a good case and psu .

Its a better option that C2D selections IMO

and theres $130 for a monitor in the $950 budget
