I have been building a gaming computer over the last few months, and while it will run any game like skyrim or grand theft auto four on a mixture of high and ultra graphics with mods, it fails to run minecraft well. It can freeze up for seconds at a time when fps drops like crazy, and generally has a higher temperature ( 40 degrees Celsius) than other games ( 30-35 degrees)
My components are:
AMD FX-6200 6 core 3.8 ghz processor
Gigabyte GA-78MLT-USB3
8 GB ram (2x4) Kingston hyper x blu ddr3
Zotac 1gb ddr3 gt440 AT-40708-10L
Corsair TX 750 V2
Is minecraft just generally hard to run? on my old system, a 2.4 ghz dual core intel celeron, intel desktop board dg41rq with the same video card but 2 gb (2x1) of kingston ram it ran perfectly smooth on "far" and "fancy" settings, though it ran around 75 to 80 degrees celsius. Any thoughts?
