Hey everyone. I currently use a 1080p 42" plasma for my PC - which is great for netflix and the like but is definitely creating eye strain for everything else, i.e. reading text in games.

So I am looking for a great gaming display. I'd prefer to stay around the $500 - $600 range.

Any suggestions? I was looking at the Dell U2410.
However, I get a 25% discount for most Apple products, thus I can get the 27" Apple Cinema Display for $749 which would definitely be the top of my budget.

I dont think there are any decent 27" displays for less than that amount, so its probably between a great 24" or the Apple Cinema Display. Is it worth the extra money for the Apple display? It is 2560x1440 so thats a plus, but I'm not sure.

Any help/advise would be greatly appreciated!

If you want anything thats 2560x1440 your going to have to spend at least $800 or so, this is the best monitor I could find for a cheap price, its $800 on Ebay.

If you dont want to spend that much, theres another option for something much cheaper, a 1920x1080 monitor for about $150.

Now I dont know where you live or anything, so I'm not sure if amazon.ca will work for you or anything but you can always take the model down and find it elsewhere.

As for the Dell U2410, it looks pretty good too, in my opinion I would get it, but if you would like to save some money I would go with the ViewSonic VX2250WM (the second link).

I wouldn't recommend the Apple Cinema Display for gaming because it has a 12 ms response time and the recommended response time for gaming is 5 ms response time... That really matters the most for FPS games though...
