[citation][nom]Wavebossa[/nom]Hate to double post, but contrary to the article I believe Bioshock does a great job of simulating ice. Although its not that true to the natural ice, the dark-blue, non-transparent seems like it fits better into the bioshock world. Just my opinion[/citation]
crysis warhead - there ice looks believable imo. especially frost on guns etc.

[citation][nom]staticneuron[/nom]Tis a shame you mention water graphics and have no references to Uncharted.@Anony-Guy the first example was UT3 engine (stranglehold. I must admit though gears 2 had better water graphics.[/citation]Yeah, Uncharted: Drake's Fortune does waterfalls A LOT better than the games they showed. Also, I love the water effect used in Gears 2 specifically during the fish boss.

they didn't use dead space (very sad it wasn't) in this article because it wasn't out yet, seeing the last picture you can didact logically that it wasn't. the monsters there are super.
For the swimming, far cry2 has the swim with lunges, for the fallout3, that too wasn't out yet prolly, chaos theory should have been included indeed. although explosions look better in real life, they are not realistic. Those stupid pyrotechnic crap looks too lame with all that firework that you buy at the 4th of july or newyears eve going off. Sometimes they look great but more often not. Its about time things were to change and both developers go and work together, moviemakers and game developers. Then we get a quantum leap in visuals I think.

for the rest it is a good article but missing some things. keep it up tomshardware!

Most pictures used for comparison purpose in both articles are real world photos though, have nothing to do with "Hollywood". You are trying to compare to real world conditions in most areas. So the title isn't very appropriate.
