With that budget, the best you really are going to get is what has already been suggested. Anything faster than a 270x will be bottlenecked by an i3 or a stock FX 6300. An i5 would take you a little over $600, unless you go with a very cheap motherboard, giving you no broadwell support.

This could probably suffice for a few years, and would be open for upgrades, as well as if you OC the gpu it will be even better for gaming
