Hi there, Im planing on getting a new custom gaming PC. I have decided that these are the parts ill be getting so far

Intel Core I5 4690K 3.9Ghz

Asus Z87-K Motherboard

Crucial - Memory - 16 GB: 2 x 8 GB - DIMM 240-pin - DDR3 1600 MHz

EVGA NVIDIA GeForce GTX 750 Ti 2GB GDDR5 DVI PCI-e Video

450w Power Supply Unit

Seagate 3.5" 1TB SATA3 SATA

I have been reading some other htreads on the forums and i have found a thread that has stated that the Intel Core I5 4690K will not support the Asus z87-k Mobo ... so i wanted to ask shall i still go with the Asus z87-k Mobo or buy the new Z97 chipset Motherboard from asus? which will be a better choice? Also I play some "High end" and i did some looking around and have found that the GTX 770 is a better GPU to pair up with the I5 4690K than the GTX 750 Ti ... So changing my GPU to the GTX 770 will be better for me, or is the GTX 750 Ti "OK"?

You've been getting sound advice. If it's in the budget, get a Z97 motherboard. A Z87 often requires a bios update to work with the new CPUs. Plus you may as well get the latest generation of motherboard if building a new computer.

And the gtx770 is FAR superior to the 750Ti. What games and at what resolution are you wanting to play?

Also, what make/model is that PSU? It would also need to be changed if you go for the gtx770.

OK! I guess ill just go for the Z97 MotherBoard. i wanna play games like Crysis, Hitman Absolution, Far Cry 3... and so on ... I've did some research on those games and they seem to be very demanding on the graphics card. obviously i'm not gonna play at them at the high/ultra settings but i want to play the games at the best visuals i can reach them at the best performance i can get out of the PC. Im hoping to play them at my Monitor's resolution which is at 1680x1050 at the moment, Or better if i can.

The PSU is the "Sumvision Power X3 450W Power Supply". What would you recommend me for the PSU if it will be needed to be changed?

Thank You ^^ 😀

Yeah, that's a pretty bad PSU. It's considered a tier 5 on this list http://www.tomshardware.com/answers/id-1804779/power-supply-unit-tier-list.html

Tier 5 says replace immediately. These units are NOT recommended for any system, no matter the purpose. Reference to higher tiered models for a better and potentially money-saving unit.

What GPU are you going to get? That will decide which PSU to get. Also, what site are you shopping on?

Thank you for the Recommendation of another graphics card, ill look into this, i've heard the z87 would need BOIS updates for the motherboard, that's one of the reasons why i decided to actually ask others, just want to be sure of what i'm getting it correct.

But still thanks for the GTX 760 suggestion, ill take a look into it.

Ill get the GTX 770 GPU at this rate since its pretty good. What Site would you recommend me to get it from, at the moment i went to amazon to look for most of the parts. But any site which offers a good deal for brand new parts is good enough for me!

It does come with a fan that is adequate for cooling as long as you aren't overclocking. You could use that until you want to OC then get a new one, but I'd recommend getting an aftermarket fan right away as they can be a pain to install after the system is already put together. They most often require a back plate on the motherboard so you'd have to take the mobo out to install a new cooler. Installing it during the initial build saves a lot of hassle down the road.

The most recommended cooler is the hyper 212 evo.

I've also see this one recommended by one of the moderators in the forum, for a few dollars more.

One last thing, "I think"... my case which i decided to get was the CiT Mars Midi Tower Part-Mesh Gaming Case" But i personally think its quite pricey for a case at £40+, could you give me a recommendation for a good case that will fit all the parts well and is cheaper than that one?

Looks aren't really Important at all, i'm just looking for a case that is good enough to hold everything together well and might have some fans to help with the cooling if needed.

Go with the z97 board over the z87. And instead of maybe a 770 go with a 760. Its cheaper and better than the 750 ti. Also look at a 550-600 watt psu. And if you plan on eventually running more monitor get the 4gb gtx 760 (still cheaper than the 770)
