Why my FX5200 's memory speed is only 286MHz ?

becuase, put quite simply, this card sucks. Nothing personal, but Nvidia, in their haste to make this card dirext 9 compatable, forgot some stuff. One of them was obviously speed. They also forgot about bandwidth, as some fx 5200 only ship with a 64 bit interface. In non-direct 9 benches, we see, in some cases, a geforce 4 mx 440 beating this card. If you want a half decent low range video card, I would suggest the Radeon 9100. It's only dx 8, but it is probably the fastest low end vid card. (or you could get a 8500, they are both the same)

Nvidia was smoking crack when they put out a low budget DX9 card. However, not one of the DX9 games can run smoothly on it. Catch 22.
