Geforce2 and IE5.5 lockup

I have an A7V with a Geforce2 Card. The system runs great and stable with the d2 drivers 4.12.01.0206-0150 and lower.
I tried to upgrade the the D3 drivers (any version) and IE5.5 would lockup randomly. I even tried the beta 717 drivers and had the same problem.
I finally re-installed the d2 drivers and it runs stable again. I then played with the overclocking settings and found I could reproduce my IE5.5 lockups by overclocking the video card. Core clock 230 and Memory clock 380 are stable [Max settings 240 and 380]. CC >230 causes lockups.

I am wondering if the D3 drivers are overclocking my video card. Does any one know how to check this? Is this info stored in the registry or somewhere else where I can adjust it?

I couldn't find any registry setting for clock speed when I re-installed the Dud3 drivers.
I sent questions to both microshaft and NVidia. Hopefully someone here will have a clue.
For now I am staying with the D2 driver and enjoying the stability.
