Dear Friends
I have finally purchased laptop Lenovo Idea pad 500
which is corresponding to Model Lenovo IdeaPad 500-15ISK.

The Ram that comes default is 8 GB RAM.
I would like to purchase another Ram stick for putting in this laptop.

Results of scan from Crucial scanner are attached in two screenshots attached here.

Basically Crucial to my understanding gives two options:

DDR3-1866 SODIMM DDR3 PC3-14900 CL=13 Unbuffered NON-ECC DDR3-1866 1.35V 1024Meg x 64 OR
DDR3-1600 SODIMM DDR3 PC3-12800 CL=11 Unbuffered NON-ECC DDR3-1600 1.35V 1024Meg x 64

The laptop has currently RAM as per two tools attached screenshots speccy and RAMMON.

Questions:

1. I believe that since currently one slot is having DDR3-1600 SODIMM ; it would be better to go for second RAM with same 1600 rather than 1866? Pls suggest if this layman understanding is correct?

2. Pls suggest which brand is compatible?

I find two of them from amazon:

Corsair 8GB DDR3L Low Voltage 1.35V 1600Mhz Laptop Memory SODIMM (CMSO8GX3M1C1600C11)

Crucial 8GB CT102464BF160B 204-pin SODIMM DDR3 PC3-12800 memory module

Kindly help me with your expert views.

It's not generally adviseable to upgrade laptops. Secondly, it's also not generally advised to mix and match RAM sticks,

as they can still be different from each other in minute ways, even if generally very similar. Meaning you're at risk of getting any number

of errors; that goes for laptops and PCs alike. If you had to buy new ones, then yes, get the ones closest to the ones you have, in every

single way. But remember that your mileage may vary. I wouldn't recommend it.

Buy the 1600 from crucial they list the 1866 because it will default to the 1600 of your other memory. The 1600 is cheaper.
Their nothing wrong with upgrading memory in a LT.
