At one point though, I picked up a dead guy's kit and he had a thermal scope which shows all enemy players as bright yellow. I racked up so many kills with that gun (until it ran out of ammo) it was stupid. It wasn't really fun because it became so easy to kill anyone from across the map without trying. But it also made the rest of the game less fun knowing that I could be getting twice the kills if I just used that scope. I had to stop playing the game at that point. So I really only got about 3 weeks or so of enjoyment out of BF3.[/citation]
This was fixed in a patch a couple months after release. There is a distance limit on it now. I used to put that on my M60 on train and just mow people down :) ...but since the patch, i FREAKING HATE TRAIN!!! GRRRR ... sorry, rage mode for a second ( dont play the game now as Borderlands 2 is slowly consuming me GUNZERKING!!!)
 
There is alot of cry babies on here. $10 for BF3 is a steal for those who don't have it. If you don't like it, no one is forcing you. It's as simple as that. But obviously some just rather be trolling idiots.

Or this is a forum and people are voicing their opinions, though the hate towards Origin is reaching new heights lol. But i do agree, 10 for BF3 is pretty awesome.
 
So funny reading people screaming hacks run a muck in BF3 like srsly.. Where to begin..

To be dead honest, I haven't seen a hacker in almost 3 weeks playing BF3.

Hopped on Black Ops and MW3 the other day and saw about 5 hackers in 2 games.

I remember when COD 4 was nothing but hackers while BF2 was still running stronk with almost zero hackers (perhaps 1 every other 5 games or longer)

For the people screaming that BF3 is riddled with hacks, I want to know 1 thing, what FPS games did you play prior to BF3? From what it sounds like when usually someone claims hacks they do so because either A. They suck at the game or B. Actually saw a hacker.

The chances of them sucking outweights the chances of the other person being a hacker.

I'm not saying there are no hackers in the game obviously, but compare it to Modern Warfare and its night and frickin day. Modern Warfare has always been full of hackers.

I have seen a few questionable people during my time that I figured were either REALLLLY good or plain hacking. Usually they are just really good, but every now and then you will see a person in a tank or walking spinning around looking directly at the people they are wallhacking/aimbotting going from one to the other in a matter of miliseconds.. I have played an assortment of fps games so I know when someone is playing legit and when someone is trying to act like they are playing legit when in reality they are hacking to look like they have skill, they are the worst of all..

Closeted Hackers are the funnest to kill however seeing how every game has them including BF3 and its always fun to watch them rage quit after you smack them around a bit.

Blatant hackers are just either bored with the game or that is all they do when they play FPS is hack.


Anyways, it does not mean that BF3 is full of hackers and anyone that claims so really needs a reality check on their own gameplay skills.

If you can't even play the game due to bugged software, $10 is a rip. I never post on these articles. I don't troll. I always expect some hiccups from new game and spend the time to try find fix. But this last go round with EA was just too much.
 
We aren't all crying about the hackers. Many of us literally can't even launch the game. The few hours I did play before whatever "fix" broke my game I loved it.
 
And how is it that you can't play? I play every night just fine. I personally hate EA and Origin and everything that they stand for but this was about a AAA game you can get cheap. There is no way you can tell me that if you buy this, you won't be able to play. BF3 is a very good game but you can't say that because origin sucks that BF3 sucks. And yes it's filled with asswipe admins that kick or ban for no reason or that pussy hackers ruin the game but not all servers are like that. If you like a server, favorite it and play on that. Not a big deal.


 
It's not only that Origin sucks, it's how EA handles games in general. Day 1 DLC for Mass Effect 3, the entire eco-system behind EA and them refusing to sell games via Steam means I am not buying them. I'd rather support indie developers who make innovative games. I just bought the Humble Indie Bundle 6 for less than $6 and at least 1 of the games in there is way more fun than the 6 hour single-player campaign in BF3 --> Torchlight.

Battlefield franchise is just turning into COD. The game itself is different than COD but supporting Battlefield 3, 4, 5, 6, 55 means supporting the same type of game over and over. No thanks. I want innovation in the gaming industry. It's pretty obvious they are going to be milking the BF franchise from now on.
 
I already made the mistake of buying BF3 on Origin, and regretted it in the first 20 minutes; no refunds.
Fool me once, shame on you; Fool me twice, shame on me.

You do realize they patched the thermal scopes a long time ago don't you?

If I click play from origin or the program menu I get the "launching" window for moment, then nothing. bf3.exe is running in task manager, even origin shows me as playing. To get around this I tried launching from battlelog, similar thing happens, bf3.exe starts, battlelog says "joining server" but nothing happens after that. Worked fine the first few weeks I had it , then I got busy with summer and when I came back it was broke, and a bunch of other people on the forums with the same symptoms. I troubleshot the crap out of this, firewall settings, router settings, drivers, fresh windows installs, permissions, repairing game, deleting files and repair, uninstall of games and origin, starting with origin offline, and about a dozen other things. Nothing I do makes a difference. EA won't even acknowledge it. The CSR is trying to jerk me around right now with a refund, so I cancelled my SWTOR sub too. I'm bummed because I really liked both of these games.
 
I do not play BF3 and never have but for $10 I'll get it.
I heard the single player mode is weak, it's all about multi-player.
time to join a group and give it a quick go.

Honestly the single player mode is no worse than the last 3 COD releases so if you enjoyed those then you will be fine with BF3 single player.
