About 50% of the time that I turn my PC on I get a message in the BIOS saying that the motherboard has detected a Power Surge. I have not noticed a change in any performance, I can continue through the BIOS and everything seems to work fine. I started getting these messages a few days ago, and lucky for me I had a new power supply already on the way. I replaced the power supply, but I am still getting the message on start up about 50% of the time. At this point I'm not sure what else to try. A couple weird things I have noticed. On the small error code display on the motherboard it shows "A0" after I get the surge warning and "40" after a normal boot. It has also started showing "00" when the system is completely shut down, it has just started doing this, normally it shows nothing. PC specs are as follows...
i5-6600k
Maximus VIII Hero
16 Gb DDR4 2400
GTX 1060
500 Gb SSD
1Tb HDD
Corsair CS650M
Thanks for your help in advance. Not sure if this is something that needs to be fixed or if there is a problem that I'm not noticing.

I think you may need a new, good quality PSU, but ...

Are you using any kind of surge suppressor?
Is it good quality?
Have you tried a different outlet to plug into?
