Question Getting absurdly low download speeds in Stea

I am getting crazy slow download speeds from steam(and other applications) I watched it briefly spike to 100MB/s but then drop down to 1 or 8 and it has done this for a while. Im not sure what to try. I have changed the download settings to change the region and have also made sure there was not a bandwidth limit.
Any help or ideas would be appreciated!

How fast in theory is your internet connection speed? is it limited to GB downloaded?

how is your PC connected to the modem?

check the modem/router:
unplug and power on again
check for errors in the logs, do a firmware update

is your internet connection stable, let it check by your ISP
