Getting bad performance

I am getting low performance on my laptop which shouldn't be happening.
Specs are - 4x i7 6500U @ 2.5 TB 3.2
4gb Nvidia 940mx


Not the best specs but I'm getting less than 30 fps in GTA 5 on lowest settings possible
Any help is appreciated

My laptop res is 1920x1080 I'm playing on 1280x720

What about your temps? Are you using a laptop cooler?
