About 3 days ago my fps is every game goes from the max fps to 0 and back up to the max rapidly, and it makes the games lag and unplayable, any suggestions on what to do, or any known fixes? i5 4670K, R9 290 Vapour-X, 8GB 1866hz Ram.

No overclocks. Not sure why this problem has just randomly sparked up.

The only thing I can think of is maybe my gpu overheating? But I ramped up fan speeds and temps went down but no change in a stable fps.

Is CPU spread spectrum disabled in BIOS?
Is the CPU fan threshold set to auto in BIOS?
Is your power plan set to "Maximum performance" in powercfg.cpl in windows?
Is your Overdrive settings in CCC all set at default?

Yes all those are done. Going to try running antimalware and give my computer a clean.

Edit: Didn't fix anything.

Ours were similar...
He's checked and confirmed the following:
Is CPU spread spectrum disabled in BIOS?
Is the CPU fan threshold set to auto in BIOS?
Is your power plan set to "Maximum performance" in powercfg.cpl in windows?
Is your Overdrive settings in CCC all set at default?

Any other ideas in regard to "power saving features"?
