Getting low fps in games with my gtx 670

I expected WAY more than 40(some times even below 30)-70fps in crysis2... I payed 400$ for a graphics card that i heard played crysis2 at nothing below 60... Im really confused please help me figure it out, also i get 30-60 in bf3 even when i hear your supposed to get 50-70

I know this may sound weird but have you tried underclocking your GPU by like say 100mhz below stock? Sometimes when the GPU clock is pushed too high it does not perform very well and thats a noted issue with the MSI lighting edition series since MSI secretly overvolts them.

I think it's your cpu holding you back but i can not say for sure.

ok i just finished installing my z77-extreme6 motherboard and a i5-3570k, after installing everything i needed(i think) I downloaded bf3 and played some with the gpu oc'd to what i had it before and the 3570k to 4.2(soon to 4.4 have not tested that yet) and i had a steady 60fps(beisides a little below every once and a while) This is a lot better than my old scores and shows me that my old cpu was a definete bottleneck... do you think i need to get an ssd?

ssd are optional, but they do cut down loading screens. by a lot.

ok well then i think the next upgrade will either be 16gb of sniper 1600mhz ram(i do do a little video editing so thats why its 16gb and i know that the 3570k is not as good as the 8120 but its ok i can wait that extra little bit of time) or an ssd what do you think would increase the speed of windows basically so like opening prgrams, windows, etc etc

Do u still overclocking your GPU AND CPU ? battlefield 3 on ultra fps ? is sync on ?

.Yeah I got everything besides ram up to maxed oc.... I pulled a 1258 on heaven maxed with the gpu not sure that's good.... Yeah sync is on.... Yes it's completely maxed on karg island and I'm pulling a steady 60 besides a little less every once and a while but mostly 60 oh and 64 player game.... Is that good?

Now that's badass.Try other maps caspain,gulf of oman.You wont be able to hold 60FPS in tank if you are playing full HD res.Also HOW MUCH YOUR CARD IS OC?

It has always been in 1241mhz but for some reason it never worked well with my 8120.... Ok I will I need to download the maps and I'm at a funeral right now now(well yesterday I'm going home today), anyways I will keep you posted.... Yeah the only thing is on karg island normally my gpu max usage is like 90 or so the only time it dropped down was when I was in the dearth screen which for some reason gave me a little bottleneck on my card 😛 but only to like 50

You use tanks lot?If so get in tank and let a chopper bomb you with rockets.That will be the worst framerate hit.But your nice cpu OC will save some FPS.

So after u change your processor and motherboard ... the fps in battlefield 3 ultra setting increase a lot ? how about your battlefield 3 in ultra setting without sync on ?

have not tried without vsync on... though i just play gulf of oman and got a steady 60 besides a few drops my lowest drop was to 50(this is the lowest with 99% usage) and i think that was when 4 tanks and a heli were shooting 8 of us in a building(it was epic 😀) oh and yeah it increase from like 30-60 to 60 steady
