So after a fresh new install of windows 8.1 on an SSD it goes through all that new setup gets to the desktop, grand yay.

Then i go and say to do important updates, after downloading and installing and restarting and applying updates it gets stuck on a blank screen.

Same color i chose when i setup the desktop, i can move my cursor around but cant do anything at all. No ctl alt delte no icons no anything.

What went wrong and what to do from here :/ ??
-----------------------------------------
Okay so deleted old partition, crated new one, went to install windows and this time get
error 0x8007025D

Both, A year or two ago i bought windows 8.1(DVD) for my new build, installed great ran for 1.5 years awesome.

Now i recently got a SSD so i wiped old drive and tried to use the same DVD i had boughten originally. Kept getting different errors like 0x80070570. Also at one point i think 0x8007025d.

After talking to a microsoft tech (who sometimes were less than helpful talked to 2 or 3) i created a bootable USB using http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-8/create-reset-refresh-media

But that leaves me where i currently am getting stuck on a blank screen.

I just want a fresh install of windows sigh*

Okay so installed it on the SSD again, everything went fine no errors.

NOW, as far as updates and drivers and all that goes is there a certain order that i need to be following? i just assumed do windows updates first but like i said last time that got me stuck on a blank screen.
