Getting the best out of my monitor

I am getting a new 1080p 144hrz monitor and I was wondering how I could get the best quality and most frames out of it. I would plug in displayport but the monitor does not have one so I have to use DVI. How should I go about getting 144hrz?

You need a DisplayPort or DVI-D cable to output at 144Hz.

What monitor did you get that is capable of 144Hz but does not have a DisplayPort input? AOC? The panel should come with a DVI-D cable.

Any dvi-d will not work. It has to be dual link but it does come with the the cable you so no need to buy one.
