I don't know why this happens randomly. First when it happened, I did sfc/scannow and chkdsk as admin from CMD but that didn't fix it because the error still came. Then I reinstalled windows 10 and even after that while that error didn't exactly come, it was loaded with a black screen(which I fixed by using task manager) but now after just removing the mic before booting it up that blue screen error still shows up...

I don't know where the issue lies and I fixed the drive issues using chkdsk now. Any ideas how to examine this issue?

defender has nothing to do with fast startup.

where is it showing as under it?

This comment said it?

this looks like another case where a service host was running then terminate process was called. When we got the kernel dump it was windows defender that terminated the process because the client did not have proper rights to run the process. problem was the process was required and the terminate process caused the bugcheck.

Unless I'm wrong here...

i don't know why defender is running anyway since you use Bitdefender. I am not sure what roles it plays when another program does firewall and AV

according to this it should be disabled already: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/mi...r-antivirus-compatibility?view=o365-worldwide

So you shouldn't have to do anything.

If John returns, he can tell us why defender runs when another AV is as it appears it shouldn't be.
what shows in windows security/virus & threat protection?

which version of Bitdefender?

It depends on the product of bitdefender you are using. If you are using antivirus plus , windows firewall will be active. If you will use internet security or total security, windows firewall will get disabled automatically.
https://community.bitdefender.com/e...ll-in-services-after-bitdefender-installation

Go to Firewall & network protection tab of Windows security
it might have a link under Who is protecting me called Manage Providers
it will show what is protecting you
In my case its Bitdefender under AV & Firewall

I thought you had it off, not on.
Thats strange you only crash on a full shutdown. It reduces odds of it being a driver.
so it working fine in safe mode could mean its hardware

did I get you to check the Kingston drive?

try running Crystaldiskinfo on both drives, its the green icon - https://crystalmark.info/en/software/crystaldiskinfo/
it will auto scan, just curious about health of both.

So should I turn off fast startup?

Ok I'll turn off startup via holding shift when shutting down and see what happens...

EDIT: Started without fast startup, no BSOD yet...

EDIT2: Started a couple times again...still no error...
