GF FX cooler won't stop cooling

I have PNY GeForce FX5600ultra with fx5900ultra cooler and usually the cooler will stop cooling about 20min after short gaming, but when I have played for few hours cooler just won't stop cooling and it will be continuing like forewer. how can I stop the cooler without rebooting my computer?

Take off the heatsink after you are done gaming. Or just take the whole card out and put it in the fridge.

I'd bet that there is some driver problem or that your gpu is still hot that long after you finish. Probably nothing to worry about. BTW, why do you have a 5900U cooler on it??

but how can make cooling stop? it's irritating when I try to sleep and cooler is yelling on backround and it newer stop without rebooting.
temp is 20min after gaming about 42c and when cooler isn't cooling its about 55c....
