I have an Asrock extreme3 990FX mobo that has a very annoying 4+1 VRM. It always bottleneck, games that can reach 60fps have to be capped to 30fps. I know it's a cooling issue, I have a very low budget case - Bitfenix Neos. And to add to the whole cooling issue, the CPU is cooled by Cooler Master Seidon 120V.
CPU is very good cooled, but rest of motherboard heats up thanks to crap airflow with stock Bitfenix fans. And I only have 3 Fan spots so basically air only exits the case through the Seidon 120V on the back, and can't decently enter through the front two. One fan gets blocked by hard drives and the other is just so slow it doesn't even reach the mobo.
So my question is, Should I get the Giga 990FX gaming with 8+2 VRM. Still with this case, so the VRM still will not get any airflow, or at least very low. Or should I get the motherboard with a much better case? So yes what is suggested?
sorry for long post
tl;dr: Current mobo VRM bottenecks cuz of bad airflow, should I get new mobo with much better phases but still no decent airflow or new mobo + new case?
