Gigabyte GA-970A-DS3P - Will it work with a FX 6300?

Hi,
I'm just wondering if the Gigabyte GA-970A-DS3P is a new stock version motherboard that is compatible with the AMD FX 6300. If it's not, how can I tell if it needs the update or not?
I've heard that the BIOS needs to be updated and if possible I really want to avoid having to do that update myself. I'm on a budget so if you could find me another motherboard around the same price that works fine with the FX 6300 I would greatly appreciate your help.

Yes it will work, because the CPU is AM3+ and so is the motherboard.

A good motherboard would be the AsRock 990x or the MSI 970A-G46

Watch out, it will work, but much slower than it should! For full FX6300 as well FX4300 cpu unlock requires F6 bios version which GA970A-D3SP rev1 do not support!!!

I have GA970A-D3SP and FX4300 and it works slower than dual core celeron 1.7GHz!!!!

You should go for FX4200 or FX6200 or simlilar that works with bios wersion F1
