Hello. I'm building my first custom pc and I've got everything, except the motherboard.
CPU: AMD FX-8320
RAM: Kingston HyperX FURY 8GB 1866
GPU(old): Asus OC HD 7790
PSU: Corsair CX600
CPU cooler: Hyper 212 Evo
My first choice was ASRock Fatal1ty 990FX Killer but it's too expensive so now I need to choose between GIGABYTE GA-990FXA-UD3 and GIGABYTE GA-970A-UD3P (rev. 1.0). I'm going to use only one video card and I'm not sure that the UD3 is worth the extra $. The difference between the price here is 40$. So what I'm getting for these 40$ (except the SLI support) and is it worth it? I'm also planning to OC a bit.

If you aren't planning on using a 2nd card, the 970 will be fine. They are both 8+2 phase power boards. But you are listing Rev 1 boards. Used?

I have the UD3 in Rev4. But it is back at Gigabyte right now (RMA). It had a BIOS problem. I used to have the earlier version (3) of that same board, and it was a great MB for the money. They switched to an UEFI BIOS with ver 4 and it has some issues.

I'm not sure about the older rev 1, though.
I see the UD3P only has 1 rev as of yet, so it would be the newest in tech and design.
