Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD3R disables SATA3 & USB3 in SLI & Xfire?

I've done a search of many forums but don't seem to get any usable info on this subject so have decided to create a thread here.

The Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD3R (afaik) has 8 x SATA 3Gb/s, 2 x SATA 6Gb/s, 4 x USB 2.0 & 2 x USB 3.0.

If the UD3R is in SLI or Xfire with just 2 cards it runs at x16 x16 but disables (?) USB3 & SATA3 support?
What exactly happens? Do the connections only work at USB2 & SATA2 speeds or are they completely disabled & non-functional at any speed?

Nvidia Has released in their new drivers so ATI and NVidia don't work together do to being competitiors! You need a chipset with Lucid Hydra 100 or 200 Chipset that overrides the Firmware so you can get them to work together or Nvidia N200 Chipset!

Sorry, that's not what I meant. I was asking about what happens to the SATA3 & USB3 connections when you run a dual card setup on the Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD3R running in either SLI OR XFire (not hybrid SLI/XFire). I have heard said that the SATA3 & USB3 are 'disabled'. I'm asking exactly what does 'disabled' mean?
I don't want/need SATA3 or USB3, I just want to know that I can fully disable this feature in the BIOS & guarantee that there is no chance of either stealing bandwidth away from my graphics cards.
