Hello! I decided to change the old thermal paste on the north and south bridge of my motherboard (Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD3R). Unfortunately Threads on the locking mechanism broke so I replaced them with simple bolts and nuts. After that my computer is unable to finish POST. I get one beep out of speaker. Video is showing up, POST starts, but it stops just before the RAM checking. I cleared the CMOS with a button - haven't helped. Tried both Xeon X5680 and i7-930, same situation, tried with different RAMs - still won't work. I even removed the bios battery for night and tried the next day - this won't work either. Any suggestions what could've happend? Did I damage the north bridge? How to check that?
