Hello,
I have the Gigabyte GA-Z68AP-D3 and 12 gbs of ram installed right now (three 4gb sticks) and I have two 8gb sticks(crucial 1333MHz). I want to have 24gb of ram using the two 8gb stick and two 4gb sticks(two of them are exactly a match), but the issue is that when i plainly just have the two 8gb sticks windows(Windows 10 technical Preview X64) boots and as soon as I get past the login screen it will immediately blue screen, but it looked like it was for a different reason each time. What I want to know is if its just a problem with windows 10 or if my bios needs updated. But on the official site it says that the motherboard has the capability of up to 32gbs of ram. I also have windows 8.1, but I haven't tested it yet. Also I used to have an issue with my motherboard where it would get turned off and when I tried to turn it back on it would not post but turn on for a second and then turn back off and continue this loop for about 5 minutes before it would finally post. I'm not completely an expert on ram so if 2 sets of different MHz's don't work together then please don't leave a comment calling me a noob. Haha.
Thank you for any help. 😀
