Hey everyone, Ive just went from a gt 635 that came with my computer to a gt730 2GB DDR5. Ive also got the GIGABYTE OC GURU II program.Beings I like to play games, I want to maximize its performance without it crashing.
Is there a better program that gives me even more control?
I know i wont get Epic graphics with smooth game play with this card but it would be nice to know how to fine tune my computer and what the sweet spots are for settings.
Thanks

Can you still send that card back? You bought pretty much the same card, the performance difference will be so small.

I would recommend returning it and getting the 750 ti for gaming.

For overclocking, its best to just increase in small increments and test for stability (OCCT has a GPU test, or use a benchmark like Unigine Valley), when you find the crash point, step it back and you have your best overclock speed.

If you have the space I don't see why you would get the GT 730 to play games. Im assuming you have the space because the 2GB DDR5 card was too big for my ITX case. I frequently see GTX 750 ti's on sale for $10 more than I paid for my GT 730.

On mine I just used MSI afterburner and just pumped it up till it was getting close to the too hot threshold and becoming unstable. I did see a significant boost over the stock settings though. Some games where 25% increase in FPS.

thanks guys ill see if i can take it back, and pick up the gtx 750ti. Never purchased an upgrade before. Though going from 635 to 730 was one lol #noobproblems
i appreciate your help
