Gigabyte GTX970 1417mhz Black Screen Crash!!

I just read about it on others post saying something about the clock speed problem.then I downloaded and open GPU-Z and Startup Metal Gear Soild: GZ and the GPU Core Clock show 1417Mhz !!

is this normal?? i have not Done any overclock nor install OC Guru II but i am experiencing Black screen Crash randomly during Gameplay

sometimes 3 hours sometimes after 6 hours its totally random. I have monitor the Temperature on the Card these few day due to the crashes. At its max its around 60c+- which i believe is withing safe range.

Can anyone assist me ?

**Update** now i have installed the OC GURU II. my purpose is to set it back to normal so that it won't crash my game. On the OC GURU II the GPU Clock Setting i pick the default 1178/1329MHZ(Gaming)then Apply.But Z-GPU still Show running at 1417Mhz!! I now pick the ECO option which is 1051/1202Mhz and now its running at 1290Mhz shown on GPU-Z. Still need to test if it help the crashing.

Can anyone explain to me whats going on? i didn't do any overclocking at all

What specific 970 do you have (Windforce, G1, etc)
The boost clocks on the G1 Gaming are 1329MHz, so its beyond stock.

That being said, the card can run at anything below 80C and be perfectly fine.

thanks for your reply. i am on the Gigabyte GTX 970 G1 Gaming. i have just updated my first post. i have this weird problem going on. please assist ;(

Now my GPU Core Clock at 1290.9( But setting is 1202)

and Memory clock at 1752.8 where GURU II Memory clock setting is 7010 (didn't touch it)

Download MSI Afterburner and see what it says, and see what happens when you chance clock speeds there.
You may have to increase the power target.

i now got this problem where if i close the Guru II it will go back up to 1417 right away. i am downloading the MSI afterburner now

Try lowering the core speeds and set the OC to apply at startup.

eh...i just read people said its because the GPUboost 2.0 from nvidia and its completely normal...

I usually recommend disabling the turbo features and do it yourself, its typically a more precise and stable way.

MSI Afterburner, settings, start with windows and start minimized, thats how I have my 760 set to OC at startup.
You will never notice it running in the background.

i just found out there is Bios update for the Card @_@ didn't know GPU do need to update bios. i am currently on Version F41 ( relase date 2015- Jun 22) and the newest version is F13 (release date 2015 May 17)

but it ask me to uninstall any nvidia driver before update.
