Gigabyte GTX980Ti 6GB GDDR5 G1 Gaming Question

I'm looking at prices, it's 650e, while Asus/Gigabyte/MSI are over 720e in my country. My question is simple, is it worth to get G1 ? Should I expect lower FPS or what ? I can't really find good overall comparasion..

I'm looking for long-term buy, 2 or 3 years in 1080p60hz gaming while I will give 970 to my wife. Just making sure not to regret for getting G1 since that can make extra buck toward good power supply.

The difference in framerate in all 980tis is about the same, unless it is liquid cooled. I would go with the cheaper option, the difference is negligable and mostly marketing honestly. It will do a great job for 1080p for years and years to come, and will run almost all games at 120fps for possibly the next two years

Thanks for explanation. Thing which I hate about GPU's at the moment..

GTX970 = solid 60fps 99% of the time if you turn off some Nvidia features (Hairwork, Smooth Grass + TXAA, SMAA2x+)
GTX980ti = solid 60fps 99% of the time if you turn ON those features

Now having on mind that I don't really use any of those really and I can live with FXAA (believe it or not), hopefully it's true that it's going to suit me on longer stage. I'm aware of Pascal, but also my job is temporarely with this amount of income. It's one time opportunity to have 2 solid PC's at my home, most importantly mine finally in top form with SSD and 16gigs of ram.

The Division is running on 70+ fps on GTX970 without those features, looks great, I would be more pleased to leave room for gpu to breath instead getting barely stable 60fps if I turn On all features as it was in beta (Even on 980ti). So hopefully I'm making right purchase then, I wouldn't go for Titan and I don't have on what to throw that money anyways. I'm getting G1.

i have the g1 in my build and it just blows me away

i just love the color options on the side

Looks smaller then what I expected for 3 fans lol. It's good for me though.

Would you guys recommend http://www.antec.com/product.php?id=706681&fid=5022117&lan=nz for current rig from my signature but 980ti instead 970 ? Looks like solid Gold 80+ PSU. I'm limited on budget for power supply since I need to get i5/rest of the Pc for my wife.

I'm reading that 600-650w is good enough, this looks like solid one and its about 110e in Serbia ~ 130$ I believe. Just not sure does it have 2x8 pins..

Hopefully I don't get loud coilwhine, I can live with decent one.

Sad story but it's 160e here. Just making sure about my mentioned if it's good enough (I know about 850 g2..it's solid one definitely). I will have plenty of time to upgrade PSU eventually for 980ti SLI if Pascal doesn't show something incredible as it's announced and 9xx falls behind.

that psu is good it is tier 2 on the power supply tier list

Thanks, for now it will do just fine, in future I will look for more quality PSU once when I decide to go for SLI.

I own the EVGA G2 850W Too its very good. Are you in GR with these prices?

A better edition for example EVGA ACX/Classified/Kingpin just have more headroom for Overclocking by having higher power/temp/voltage limit and have better cooling options

(and ofcourse higher FPS) and more Ideal to Watercooling

Whatever edition GPU you buy Please make sure it has a backplate for better cooling,oc and VRM'S getting less hot or just have fans blowing air from the top of the gpu which isnt really much ideal

Yeah I know that believe me. My current 970 doesn't have backplate so I know issues with vram temps even though there is no sensor for that, bending aswel is one of the problems. Looks like that G1 comes with backplate which is good.

I really want to cable manage your pc for you. REALLY BADLY

@Rooster__

Thats why i bought my Phantom 530. SOO Much space for cable management behind the case and even with a bunch of cable and an FREAKIN HDD benhind the case without the cables being managed behind the case the panel still closes very well

Hahah yea, I use the define s, same kind of deal. Cable clutter is one of the ugliest things on a build.
