Hello all, i’ve just bought this old pc together with an gtx 750 ti. All was working and then i found out that bios was a little out of date so i decided to update to the latest version. The update went great without any issues, I had few struggles with booting back to windows after the update but i fixed it and everything was back.

Then I decided to reinstall the windows so i shut down the pc normally, and then i turn it on and nothing, it turns on for couple of seconds, fans spin etc and then it just turns off, no post at all.

I connected speaker to it and after removing ram it beeped so i think ram is not the issue. Tried all slots of ram, disconnected everything only 1 ram, cpu, gpu and psu and still nothing.

Tried reseating the cpu and still nothing. This is like my first ever kinda powerful pc (i know it’s old) so like yeah it kind of sucks. Also those phase leds they light up green green yellow red

CPU: Intel i5-2500
CPU cooler: I don’t really know but it’s not stock for sure
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-Z68XP-UD4
RAM: 4x4 DDR3 Corsair 1600mhz
SSD/HDD: Samsung 870 EVO
GPU: Nvidia Geforce GTX 750-TI
PSU: XFX PRO450W
Chassis: some kind of “Sharkoon” case
OS: Windows 10 22H2 64-bit
Monitor: Dell 19” E2216HV

(also this pc without the nvidia gpu was working without issues for like a month before this bios update. Here’s a video of startup, https://streamable.com/98opc7 )

I can’t believe this… all of the 4 ram modules were broken? I tried some samsung 4gb ram and it posted and now it works man, what are the chances! Everything is fine now and working.

How old is the PSU at this moment of time? I could it to be about a decade or so old.

When posting a thread of troubleshooting nature, it's customary to include your full system's specs. Please list the specs to your build like so:
CPU:
CPU cooler:
Motherboard:
Ram:
SSD/HDD:
GPU:
PSU:
Chassis:
OS:
Monitor:
include the age of the PSU apart from it's make and model.

Just an FYI, you should get display out without the discrete GPU, since your processor has an iGPU. All you nee to do is hook yup your display to the motherboard's display output.

The mode of PSU is XPS-450W-SEW and i don’t know how old old it is but it must be pretty old, here’s a serial number of it if you need it, M81037795

I’m going to try it with the iGPU later today as you said, thanks.

I fixed system spec’s info here too.
