I can get an XFX 8800 GTS 320 for ~$570, OR for $20 NZD less, I can get a Gigabyte 8800 GTS 320. Neither is OC'ed. The XFX one has a 2 year warranty (through the retailer, as XFX doesn't provide a manufacturer's warranty in New Zealand), but I don't know about the Gigabyte. The only difference in the package is the XFX does NOT come with an extra PCI-E power connector, but my PSU comes with two so it doesn't matter. Which one, and can anyone tell me about Gigabyte's warranty in New Zealand (I couldn't see anything about warranties on their site).

Why'd you list that? Gigabyte, 1 year warranty, ~same price as an XFX with 2 years warranty. That still doesn't tell me if Gigabyte offers a warranty in NZ, or if they're like XFX and do it through their retailers. The Gigabyte I was looking at was $20 less. But NO info on warranties. Hence me asking. Please engage your brain AND read my post properly before posting.

EDIT: The XFX on that site also has a one year warranty as is the Leadtek, so chances are all 3 warranties are done via the retailer.

Get over yourself. If you want to contribute, please do, so long as it's helpful rather than flaming. Which I guess your other post was, in a backhanded kind of way.

Edit: Apologies for typo in my previous post, btw. ("Info on warranties." >> "But no info on warranties."). Not that it changes the situation at all.

BFG and EVGA are like $100-$150 more expensive here, for slightly better bundles. So it looks like XFX will be it! Although I kinda like the purple Gigabyte card... lol. Na, $20 more for a year extra warranty... Of course. And white and green is snazzy. Whats stopping me is I heard a rumour Gigabyte offers 3 year warranties down here but I can find no evidence for or against.

I like the BFG products too :), however all things being equal or nearly so...look for the one with a better warrenty. Most of the boards are built to the reference standard anyway, BFG just happens to overclock the **** out of their stuff AND has one of the best Warrenties.

Perhaps you should read your post more carefully.
1) You never said that you were only interested in manufacturers' warranties, you just happened to mention that the XFX one was by the retailer and not the manufacturer.
2) You never said where you found the Gigabyte at $20 less than the XFX so we couldn't have known about that particular retailer, or their warranty policy, in order to check it and see if maybe you missed sth.
3)Slashzapper found a retailer for you, in NZ that stocks the Gigabyte and offers a warranty which was rather helpful considering you original post.

When people are being nice it's idiotic to insult them. No one will be kind enough to offer their help and advice anymore

Then get the XFX, you'll be happy with it.
Ta for your help. Looks like I'll be buying right now.

I never said I was ONLY interested in manufacturers warranties, true, BUT I never said I was only interested in retailers either. The implication in my previous statement "The XFX one has a 2 year warranty (through the retailer, as XFX doesn't provide a manufacturer's warranty in New Zealand), but I don't know about the Gigabyte" was that I didn't know about Gigabyte's warranty as a MANUFACTURER, and that I would prefer info on manufacturer and retailer warranties. My actual QUESTION was which one was a better deal, and could anyone fill me in on the warranties from Gigabyte available in New Zealand.

In conjunction with showing a clearly worse deal (same price, worse warranty - DUH!) Slashzapper also assumed I didn't do much research (see below), which is bull; I just couldn't find anything about warranties specifically from gigabyte:
"I just used google ...so before asking please do a little research ."

As for not saying where I found them, if you want to know that in order to help, you could ASK you know. If you ask I'll be happy to tell you. Otherwise it's pointless.

And other than you and Slashzapper, the other couple of people in this thread have been helpful. Thanks to Chuckhissle and immagickman, I have come to a conclusion: I will buy the XFX. End of story.

The award for the most thankless , self egotistical bas**** goes to....

Dude if i didn't think that you are so stupid and ignorant , i might actually be worried about you

You are so lame  , sheesh no wonder this world is going to hell on a express train .

Can't be bothered commenting on your BS, slashzapper. I've made my decision, and now I'm going to stop watching this thread. Byebye, moron.

Any video card will be outdated in less than 2 years anyway... :?

hence why you 'break it' and since they can't replace it with the same model, bam new card.

now i just need to figure out how to break a card so it will look like the manufacture was atfault and not me.....

hmmmmm

P.S. the best way to stop flaming is to ignore it. The inital flamer will look more like a moron if you ignore it that if you respond.

Here are some comparissions between some cards...
