Question GIMP 3 Installing Itself Without Permission

I'm having this issue with the image software GIMP, I use GIMP 2, the newest version, and recently, GIMP 3 released; I'm glad they've managed to create a major update for it but for some reason it keeps installing on my machine without asking me first. It doesn't overwrite GIMP 2, GIMP 3 is installed separately alongside GIMP 2. Is there any way I can stop this from happening? I really don't think installing apps without asking first is good practise; I feel that I paid for this machine, I should be the one to say what goes on it.

What OS are you using?
Even running Windows as an Admin user, it would stop and prompt before installing.

My GIMP is v2.10.30 and holding.

Hi there, sorry for the late reply.

I'm running Windows 11, I am the only user on this computer. My GIMP version is 2.10.38.
I've checked the task scheduler to no avail, nothing in there would suggest that the install is being triggered automatically. I'm just very confused.
