I do not have photoshop so I use GIMP for photo editing, is there a way to do a side by side pictures? I'm trying to do a youtube channel art like this one I did put a link below, problem is I don't know what to write into search box to find a related tutorial, thank you in advance,

Yes you can do that pretty easily with gimp, load up every image as a layer and you can manipulate them any way you want until you get them to line up.
