Pretty sure it's the new Radeon drivers, version Adrenalin 2020 Edition 20.11.2; I installed them a few days ago and twice they've caused a BSOD at random times.

So, yesterday, when I saw the graphics display starting to mess up, I saved what I was doing and forced a hard reset. Afterwards, there was a glitchy motherboard splash screen and strange bands of colors when booting, which is concerning, and when booting into Safe Mode, the system resets after a few seconds pass.

I can get a stable screen, if glitchy, when booting from my Windows install disk, which is the Ultimate 64-bit version, but when choosing Startup Repair, it tells me nothing is wrong.

Specs:

CPU: AMD Athlon X4 860K Kaveri Quad-Core 3.7
GPU: MSI Radeon R7 370 DirectX 12 R7 370 GAMING
PSU: CORSAIR CX series CX750 750W 80 PLUS BRONZE
RAM: G.SKILL TridentX Series 16GB (4 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 2400
Motherboard: MSI A88X-G45 Gaming

The system as a whole is 4+ years old. Fingers crossed this isn't a hardware issue, but if so, oh well.

Update: Tried resetting CMOS by removing the battery on the motherboard, and tried holding the power button for 30 seconds with everything unseated and the power supply unplugged. Still nothing. Last Known Configuration doesn't work either, and when I try to use the Win 7 recovery disks, my system doesn't recognize them and tries to boot as usual.

Thinking I need to reinstall Windows to fix this, though I don't want to wipe either of my drives to do so.

Update #2: When running chkdsk, my C drive has been changed to my SSD, which isn't where my OS is stored. It's now on Drive E:, where my SSD used to be.

Update #3: Here's what I get when using Startup Repair and checking the Problem Details:

Startup Repair Offline

Update #4: Got out a new mechanical drive and reinstalled Windows 7 onto it. Now I have a screen that is displaying normal and distorted colors in bands, and I still cannot get into my BIOS screen because it's a black screen. The motherboard splash screen is also still glitchy, showing strips of red instead of the MSI logo or any other info from that screen.

(Pretty sure the issue is the GPU at this point. Looking into replacements.)
