I know many of you have this fan. Is it realy as loud as some reviews say it is? I have the FOP 32-1 in right now. I am not overclocking, but I am still running at 50-60 degrees c and would like to cool it a little better. Will this fan do much better than its little brother?

Yes it is very loud. You will notice it from the very start, no doubt about it. This is of course only is the Delta Fan, or similar RPM fan is installed. The actual noise output in decibels is not that great, but the frequency of the fan noise is high, kinda like a baby crying, and it will get annoying, unless you have other things that constantly make noise. Think of someone running a vacuum in another room with the door closed, that is about how loud that fan will be when you are in the same room with it.

before you just switch heatsinks and fans, try cooling yoru case better, i have an fop32-1 as well, and for the noise of the 38, i dont think its really worth it, you can pick up some quiet 80mm fans and just add them to you case to get out the hot air. when i first installed my FOP32-1 my cpu temp was about 49 and went as high as 52, then i moved some cables around to make better airflow it dropped to a constant 47 -50 with the side of the case off the temp dropped to about 43-46 i installed a 120mm fan in a hole i cut in the side of the case because i didnt like having the side of my case of so i figured that would be a better way to get the air in there, and now my cpu temp is at 39. quite pleased to see it there. and now i am just going to make a switch to turn the fan either off or just slow it down so it doesnt have to run full blast all the time, incase i am watching a dvd and want to hear more movie than wind. with the fop38 you wont be able to turn down the noise if you wanted to. where as you can with an extra case fan.

If you overclock an Intel Processor enough, it will turn into an AMD. True Story.

i think you are talking about the fop38 that comes with delta fan. those are LOUD!!! to give you an example. that fan is rated at 46.5dba now that is loud...an average home refrigerator, when the compressor is going, has a 45dba.
