[SOLVED] GN246hl 144hz

Hello. I have a GN246HL. It arrived about an hour ago. I cannot seem to get 144hz to work

I'm using it on my dad's computer. My dad's video card does not have a VGA port but his motherboard does. He has a ASUS RX 480 8 gb.

I have VGA and HDMI hooked up. Again the VGA is through my dad's motherboard. Could that be why it's not working ??

Yes either buy a monitor with displayport or use a GPU that has a DVI port.

No, no HDMI, you need Dual-link DVI to dual-link DVI and a GPU with DVI port:

Most new cards don't have DVI. Can't you return or sell the monitor?

They probably did not test it. You can look on amazon a guy with the same monitor as you bought the expensive adapter and it has issues:

I have tested every adapter that I recommend. However, they don't always work for everyone. Which is why I very specifically wrote:

Yes. I have tested the following DisplayPort to Dual-Link DVI active adapter. It works up to 144 Hz at 1080p:

However, be warned that DP to DL-DVI active adapters are not very reliable and should only be considered as a last resort. It is strongly recommended to return the monitor and get one that has an actual DisplayPort input port rather than use these adapters.

So yes, there are some reviews in which people had issues.
