That 52.14 driver really seem to be the one.

There comparing it to the Cat 3.7

Good for them for fixing there IQ issue. I dont care unless there comparing with Cat 3.8's that are out at 3pm.

Nvidia's PS2.0 support still sux.

There are still a few problem between new driver and a few new games(HW2). Plus those Nvidia drivers are skipping AA filter as usual.

In the end, a good move by Nvidia as you can see from halo/AM3, hope those images comparison are valid.

"Cough, cough", screen caption detection anyone?

I've been looking through these and it certainly does seem like there's hope out there for all of those that purchased the fx series. There are definately certain games tested that give the fx series fits though. (like Sim City 4: 4AA/4AF) Still, most games are playable, though once some more detailed analysis of how they're working comes out we might have something to complain about again.

Of course, most DX8 games will be playable on FX series. Some newer ones will have "problem" coz Nvidia havent got around to "optimise" them yet.

It is just that Nvidia cutting corners to level the playing field with ATi, which angers the users.

A few things stuck out to me. All the screenshots are identical. I mean every one is like its been produced from the same card. No differences in lighting or anything.

Second, the MS Flight Simulator game has been removed???? That was the game where the ATI cards got 125fps and the 5900 got 27fps????

Whats going on here? Surely there should be at least a difference in lighting on some of the screenshots? And why remove a game and not test I.Q on it when its one of the games Nvidia suffers most on. Surely we want to see if the ATI cards have lower I.Q in this game ????

Edit: Removed comparisons of TR game because Anand didnt use fps they used percentage of PS2 for some CRAZY reason (cough money cough).

lol, never trust 1 web site alone, although THG are accurate - they are only human and also make mistakes as seen in the whole AMD FX51 vs Intel P4EE article. Always use a couple of sites and never rely on just 1 web site.

speeduk has fallen into the hole that anandtech dug when they used NEW performance graph.

Anyway read it carefully, Tomb raider didnt have fps graph it had some dodgy frame lost while using PS2.0 graph. IMO, anandtech will mislead a lot of people by using those graphs.

Lastly i am begin to see a downgrade in term of benchmark article from anandtech, first they used unreleased driver for benchmark(which i remember they said they never will after that GF4 fisco). Secondly the images were not captured in a way that truely reflect cards' rendering within game, eg. they capture those dark and outdoor area...Even worse, some of the most important FULL SIZE images had BROKEN links, halo was the one stand out.

They dont even give you full screen pictures of almost all of the games, what a crap review, they just expect you to believe whatever thye say

One site gets low fps with same drivers another gets super high fps with same drivers and the ATI card remains the same. If they optimized the setup for the FX cards, why not do it for the ATI cards too to keep things fair? And if they did, why did the ATI card not get a much better score?

Just seeing some odd things in this review.......

*spud bites off UFO penis*ZORO!!!

But on a serious note I must say I am very pleased with nVidia at this point they have cleaned up their IQ and their new compiler seems to do very well. Not as well as the 9800xt but its a start my FX looks a bit better this morning... but not much.

I'll be getting my new computer with a 5600FX card in it soon and wondering when the new 5x.xx drivers will be available?

I would like to change out for an ATI, but Alienware doesn't have that card yet.

Nvidia still sucks. Even with their improvements, which I can't confirm since nobody else has done a review, anandtech can't recommend any nvidia cards.

Why anyone would buy a nvidia card right now is beyond comprehension. At least in your case this might help comfort your burned wallet a bit, but for anyone making a brand new purchase it's very clear that Nvidia is not a good choice.
