Unless you require the portability of a laptop, you're better off with a desktop in term of bang for buck and upgradability. Does your budget need to include monitor, keyboard, and mouse?

CPU: Intel Core i3-6100 3.7GHz Dual-Core Processor (£97.98 @ CCL Computers)
Motherboard: ASRock H110M-HDV Micro ATX LGA1151 Motherboard (£44.99 @ Amazon UK)
Memory: Crucial 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR4-2133 Memory (£27.09 @ Amazon UK)
Storage: Seagate Barracuda 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive (£37.98 @ Novatech)
Video Card: Gigabyte GeForce GTX 950 2GB OC Edition Video Card (£121.56 @ CCL Computers)...
Just so you know, both desktops and laptops are technically PCs.

Anyway, to your question, your money would go a LOT farther on a desktop with that low a budget. It's not really enough for an adequate gaming laptop, unless you get a great deal on a used one. I wouldn't recommend buying a used gaming laptop though.
