Good (and free) disk partition software

Hey just ran into a problem as I try to partition a new 1TB HDD I bought, the windows disk management freezes at loading or at 30% of formating the new hard drive so as a quick fix: Does anyone know of a solid free disk partition software?

Parted magic, gparted, easeus partition manager. But sounds like something is wrong with the drive

Run a hard drive test FIRST in DOS...HIRENS cd ETC....

Well a couple more restarts and changed out the power and data cables for it and now it works fine, although the windows partition utility is incredibly none responsive and slow now that I added this drive. Thanks for the advice.
