First, do you have a CPU (also called processor)? If so, is it Intel or AMD

No not really I am waiting to see what deals come along during black friday and cyber monday.

Supposing it is the latest generation (Haswell) a great option will be the MSI Z87M-G43. Since it is Z87 it has a bunch of features including Overclocking and SLI/Crossfire.
