Here's a build I suggest. I put in the same gpu (it's the same card in my son's computer). But I agree with waiting to see what the price and specs are on the GTX 1070. Of course the price could drop on the 970, and might make that more attractive. I'm still running a GTX 780 in my rig, and haven't felt the need to upgrade yet. Below is a build I think looks pretty good, and it saves you $83.00 (which you could part of it into a cpu cooler such as the Cryorig H7 for $34.50

CPU, the I-7 is just unnecessary overkill in a gaming rig. The I-5 is much better. The money saved is put into buying a better case, a better RAM stick, and a better storage drive
MOBO: The mobo you picked is fine.
Memory: The G. Skills Ripjaws X Series is a very good stick 8gb is very good for gaming. Using up one slot is fine for now, and gives you room to expand.
Storage: If you don't want to go the SSD/HDD double drive route, a great alternative is the SSHD. Faster than a regular 7200 HDD and still 1TB that doesn't break the bank.
GPU: Look at the 1070, or see if prices come down in the 970.
Case: The Rosewill is cheap, and not very good. It doesn't have front panel USB, and that is something useful. It also doesn't readily give the clearance space it has for a GPU. The Corsair can fit a 320mm card, the GPU in this build is around 280mm. A 1070 should fit into this case as well.
Power supply: Basically the same one you picked, fully modular Gold+ and a 550w is great for a build drawing 318w
Optical drive and OS are the same, can't go wrong with either of those.
Good luck on your first build!
