What you obviously don't know is that the Epson 2200 is the US name
and the Epson 2100 is used everywhere else. So yes, they do. Otherwise
my Epson 2100 is operating on ghost ink ;-)

Use Epson ink. You paid a lot for the printer and you do not want to
damage it.

Epson is not a manufacturer of ink. They pay a 'contract ink
manufacturer", usually located in China (Epson is not a Chinese based
company) to manufacturer ink for them according to their specifications.
They then put an Epson label on the ink cartridges.
This gives Epson the legal rights to refer to the ink cartridges as
Epson OEM (original equipment of the manufacturer) labeled ink cartridges.
This does not explicitely imply that Epson actually manufactured the ink.
Is that what you're referring to when you say "use Epson ink"?

Inkystinky has no experience with Epson inks, OEM or aftermarket, and should
stick to giving advice about which he knows something.

Demand a refund for the unused ink and the CIS.

If they can't resolve the problem they should at least return your money
so you can buy an alternative product.

Look at the above statement that this shmuck wrote. I guess my printer
does not use any ink at all when I produce nice results. Boy look at
the money I save. :-D :-D :-D :-D

Epson is the formulator of the ink. They monitor and control its mfg
and quality control. That is what I mean by Epson ink.

Now who mfg a shmuck like Frankie Crankie?

Not really. Epson pays a contract ink manufacturer to formulate,
manufacturer and check the quality (quality control) of their Epson
labeled inks.
Any contract ink manufacturer wiil do that for anyone who is willing to
pay the price.
How little you know of what you speak so much of.

Inkystinky (is you nickname Stinky or Inky? Mine, by the way is not
schmuck.) claims to have earned an MBA from Stanford. Measekite, you
should have adequate proficiency in English to know that the comma in my
posting after "Epson inks" had a modifying phrase, "OEM or aftermarket"
referring to EPSON INKS and merely states that you have no experience with
EPSON OEM or EPSON AFTERMARKET INKS. You just flunked the English
comprehension portion of the SAT exam. Back to bonehead English for you,
Stinky. Enough of your name calling, trying to find fault with all my
posts, and denying the validity of other people's experience.

NO (see - I have a caps lock key too), It is sadly amusing to see that when
someone points out an inconsistancy, error, or misinformation in your
non-contributory responses you don't have the decency or common sense to
admit it, much less apologize. You just escalate the insults.

I'm sure if you live long enough you might just get a clue, but you
haven't managed it yet...

Alan -- I have an Epson 2200 and had the same problem of roller marks on the
prints when I switched to Costco paper. It seemed to be the combination of
slow drying pigment ink and Costco paper. Problem solved by using dye based
ink -- much better colours (no muddy looking pigment colours). It the prints
last as long as I do then I'll be happy. The only fading I have seen is with
prints made by an old HP about 7 years ago. I have an Epson 1200, 2200, R200
and 870, all with CIS systems.
cheers

If that is the case you are better off with a Canon i9900 and Costco paper.
